This month we’re delighted to welcome LIZ McPHERSON \nLiz’s poetry has been widely published in both print and online poetry journals and anthologies\, including Prole\, The High Window\, The Lake\, and Black Nore Review\, among others. She was runner-up in the 2021 Poetry Society Stanza Competition and has been shortlisted for the 2024 Leeds Poetry Prize. A familiar face at open mic events across West\nYorkshire\, she recently headlined at Gobby in the Lobby in Wakefield and will be at the Purple Room\, Ilkley\, on 19th October with the Fabulous Mustard Brothers. \nLiz’s work explores the unanticipated aspects of life with her unique combination of humour\nand sensitivity. ‘Unexpected Items’ will be published by Yaffle in October 2024. \nOPEN MIC \nWe supply the mic – you supply the poetry \nPut your name down for a 5 minute slot (first come\, first served) or just come along and listen. \nOpen mic name listing from 6.30pm \nEvent begins with guest poet at 7.00pm \nEveryone welcome.
