SUMMARY:SOUNDBITES - Monthly Poetry Open Mic Event on Zoom
DESCRIPTION:SOUNDBITES – Monthly Poetry Open Mic Event on Zoom \nWe present a published guest poet each month. This month were delighted to welcome LESLEY CONSTABLE. \nLesley Constable is a poet and a painter\, starting from an early age\, and encouraged by family who were in the arts. She is also a trained Modern Dancer. She writes\, paints\, draws\, and dances on a daily basis. She is most often linked as being associated with or from the lineage of the US Beat Poets. What is paid attention to\, in her work\, is what is behind the scenes and not often or directly visible – the dream state or the workings of the subconscious mind. \nShe is project-based and has also organized and staged many collaborative and poetry and visual arts events. \nShe is a US and UK dual citizen who lives\, variously\, in both countries\, but has most frequently lived in Mexico. \n\nONLY CLICK THIS LINK if you want an open mic slot or haven’t been to Soundbites on Zoom before https://forms.gle/WzwZMfamB17Bcj1q8\nIf you are not planning to read and have been to Soundbites on Zoom before\, you don’t need to complete the form. Please make sure to save the link to join us on Zoom on the night. If you want to read your work you will still need to use the sign-up form.\n\n\n\nSigning up includes your agreement to use your email address to send you the Zoom link and to keep you informed of any Soundbites related information. We would not make any other use of it or pass it on to anyone else.\n\n\n\nNo recording would be published without the consent of the participants.\n\n\n\nEveryone welcome.\n\nThanks and good wishes from the Soundbites Team\nCate\, Barbara\, Jackie\, Myrna and Howard. \n\n\nFind out more at  http://www.heartlines.uk\n\nor on Facebook at Soundbites Poetry\n\nThere is no charge for taking part but\, if you wish to\, here is a link to the HEART Crowdfunder page where you can make a donation: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/support-heart-through-this-uncertain-time

SUMMARY:FNL: Appel4
DESCRIPTION:Appel4 are a gypsy jazz group from West Yorkshire\, formed several years ago by Gus Bousfield (bass and accordion) and Rob Bromhead (guitar). \nThose attending Appel4 gigs should not expect to only hear the traditional gypsy jazz canon. Much respect is paid to the past\, but the diverse background of the band gives what they play a unique spin. \nHenry Parker (guitar)\, is a highly successful folk guitarist\, singer and writer with 2 critically acclaimed albums to his name. Gus has a background in pop and electronic music and is a successful TV composer. Howard Nash (violin) comes from a classical\, pop and country background and Rob Bromhead is a jazz guitarist. \nAlthough you can expect to hear some standard repertoire – Djangology\, Minor Swing – you’ll also enjoy unique arrangements of familiar melodies and latin jazz – The Beatles\, Chick Corea. As Rob says: “You have a choice whether or not to play ‘in the style of’\, or use all of your musical experiences whilst paying respect to the tradition to create a kind of fusion. We hope that we have succeeded in the latter. \nTickets £5 available from HEART reception or via the ‘Book Now’ button below.
