SUMMARY:TNL: Duncan and Anne CANCELLED
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED \nTuesday Night Live: DUNCAN & ANNE \nDoors 7pm Music 7.15pm \nDuncan & Anne sing & play classy\, traditional and contemporary songs (you might even get some Beatles or Crowded House – you never know!) Expect a strong rhythmic impetus that’s infectious in the extreme. \nA punchy guitarist in the ‘English folk’ style paired alongside a highly talented fiddler\, Duncan & Anne offer up sets split between his own and well-known contemporary songs\, plus songs from the Tradition. \nDuncan has an obvious feel for the tradition and a deep-rooted belief that it has a place in the current folk scene\, aspects which he puts across with lively showmanship. His own songs show a canny grasp of\, and response to\, the tradition\, while his intrinsic seriousness of intent and approach is often laced with a healthy irreverence that happens to be hugely entertaining – The Living Tradition \nTickets £7/£6 concessions available from HEART reception and online

SUMMARY:TNL + Jazz at Heart present EXTENDED FAMILY BAND
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday Night Live with Jazz at Heart team up to present: EXTENDED FAMILY BAND \nDoors 7pm Music 7.15pm \n‘One of the best modern jazz groups performing at the moment’ – Bebop Spoken Here \n‘You simply HAVE to get to see them – you won’t be disappointed’ – Martin Powell\, JATP \nThis is a new project which sees the original quartet of like-minded friends\, Family Band\, expanded to a seven piece band. The band takes as its starting point the music of those musicians who\, back in the 1960s\, were at the forefront of the free jazz revolution\, but whose opening up of jazz’s constraints is now recognised as not a break from the past but an integral part of the music’s development. \nKim Macari – trumpet\, Dee Byrne – alto saxophone\, Riley Stone-Lonergan – tenor saxophone\nAlicia Gardener-Trejo – baritone Sax\, Andrew Woodhead – piano\, Tom Rivière – double bass\,\nSteve Hanley – drums \nExtended Family Band doesn’t recreate the work of Ornette Coleman and others\, but shares its powerful and free-spirited momentum. This expanded line-up with new collaborators\, sees the band performing music that is more ambitious in scope and more alive with tonal colours and sonic possibility – all the while seeking to express a more complex and deeper personal truth. \nMusic from 19.15pm – 21.15pm approx. \nTickets £12/£6 concession available from HEART website and online
