He was one of the founder members of Leeds Survivor Poets \nand has edited or co-edited various collections of poetry and short stories by mental health survivors\, \nsuch as ‘Doorway in the Night’. His first collection of poetry\, The Magpie’s Box\, was published by Yaffle Press in 2019. DESCRIPTION:Those of you that have been familiar with HEART for a while are sure to know about Apple Day!\nFollowing on from the fun of last year\, we’ve decided to run our annual Apple Day again on Saturday the 22nd  October.\n\nWe will be running a cider festival in collaboration with Assembly Bar + Kitchen and local brewers! There will also be plenty of apple based activities over the weekend such as stalls\, games and Morris Dancing and of course Apple Juicing.\n\nHeadingley Orchard will have all of their kit with them to turn excess apple crops into juice. If you have any extra apples then please bring them along with you on the day.\nApple Weekend will reach a climax when we welcome back the fantastic Wild Geese for a Ceilidh in our Shire Oak Hall. If you heard The Wild Geese perform at Tuesday Night Live you’ll know how brilliant they are and we can’t wait for them to host a good old fashioned knees up!\n\nTickets for the Ceilidh are £10 per person and a link will be shared for these soon!\n\nThere is no need to book onto any of the other activities over the weekend\, we will let you know the timings of specific events and games very soon.\n\nWe hope to see you there for what promises to be a special day !

She brings much expression and a real depth of feeling to all her songs\, with narratives that are often thoughtful and sometimes provocative.\n\nIntroducing – Chloe Lawrence\, born and bred in Southern Spain to Essex parents\, is a Manchester based singer/songwriter and street musician.Chloe showcases sprinklings of classical folk music and intricate finger-picking\, paired with her own fierce independent modernity. Performing on a Spanish nylon string guitar\, Chloe combines tastefully applied vocal grit and unexpected pop riffing\, with moments of spoken word; all of which weave poetically\, if somewhat cuttingly\, to provoke emotional digging around relatable themes. This unique blend serves to differentiate her style from the genre singer-songwriters tend to be associated with. \nChloe began playing on the street regularly in Cardiff\, where you could hit Queen Street and be charmed by the vulnerable optimism of her honest story-telling matched by the dynamic intricacies of her voice. Certain workshops will be family-friendly as is the rest of the proceedings. \nCreating comfortable and caring spaces is at the heart of what we try and do. Please make yourself familiar with our ‘house/safer spaces policies’ in the FB event bio. \nWe operate ‘pay as you feel/can’ to create an accessible space. exhale works on a non-profit basis. Money for entry goes to running costs of the event. Money for food goes directly to Rainbow Junktion. \nFurther information below. \n– Welcome\nThis event desires to build a common-space through the celebration of two of life’s fundamental activities; dinner and dance.\nIn a world increasingly built upon divisions\, this event seeks to provide a space for community to flourish and the creation of an environment that welcomes all. Both dinner and dance are moments of healing\, of connecting to the people around us and to ourselves. Music and proceedings start at 1.30pm and we welcome people to come in and hang out. Food will be served from 5:30pm and once people have digested\, more space will be created to allow for dance till close. \n– Tickets\nThis event is non-profit and operates on a PAYF (pay as you feel) basis. Tickets for entry into the space (this does not include food) will be £0-£10 to ensure accessibility for anyone. If you would like to eat make sure to come down early.\nThese meals will be prepared by us\, with Rainbow Junktion providing the facilities and ingredients. All the money going to Rainbow Junktion! Meals will be vegan. Any other specific dietary requirements you are welcome to message us concerning.\nIt is an incredible honour to be able to collaborate with Rainbow Junktion\, an established part of the LS6 community that has been providing community-cafe and food-bank services to local residents on a PAYF basis for a few years. Their bi-weekly (Mondays and Thursdays) cafe has just re-opened and has provided a really important space for locals and students to come together for a meal.
