SUMMARY:Films at Heart: Scrapper
DESCRIPTION:FaH: SCRAPPER \nDoors 7.00pm Film 7.15pm \nDir Charlotte Regan/1hr 24 mins/Certificate 12A/2023 \nLola Campbell plays 12 year old Georgie Campbell whose mother has just died. To prevent herself from being fostered or put in care\, she pretends she’s being looked after by a non existent uncle. Georgie makes money by stealing bikes and selling them for scrap. And then one day a man\, played by Harris Dickinson\, crawls over the back fence and says he’s her long lost father… \nWatch Scrapper trailer here \nReviews: Rotten Tomatoes 94%  Scrapper is full of spirit\, humor\, and formal inventiveness that sets it apart from much of British working-class cinema. Dickinson and remarkable newcomer Campbell imbue irresistible charm into this moving and frequently hilarious story of two emotionally tangled people: a grieving kid thrust into adulthood and a father in over his head \nEmpire Magazine – Scrapper refuses to be pigeonholed as another dreary story about working class life. Grief has hope\, youth holds the keys to everything. \nPreceded by short film Just Remember This directed & presented by photographer and artist Richard Coward\, exploring the quiet beauty of industrial buildings (4 mins\, UK). Shown with kind permission from the Richard and Siobhán Coward Foundation.\nTickets £6.50/£5.50 concessions available from HEART website and online
