SUMMARY:FNL: Silverlode
DESCRIPTION:Friday Night Live: SILVERLODE \nDoors 7pm Music 7.15pm \nSilverlode is a folksome indie rock band from Leeds\, England. \nA folk band in the broadest sense of the word; dogs of pop; self-taught musical ruffians who play to their own traditions. Reinventors of self and prone to playing their songs in a myriad of ways\, join Silverlode on their mythological journey through history\, future\, fantasy and good times via their ever-evolving music. \nRunning\, jumping\, limping\, crawling\, picking themselves up\, dusting off and pushing forward with writing\, recording and releasing songs — staying true to their steadfast DIY work ethic since around 2001 — that’s nearly twenty years of hot trouble. \nFor everything Silverlode\, visit www.linktr.ee/Silverlode \nAdvance tickets £8/£7 available from HEART reception and online \nOn the Night £10

These days he plays just a handful of gigs a year\, all MS benefits\, using mandozouki\, dulcimer\, guitar\, whistle\, concertina\, accordion and harp. The first set features award-winning songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Den Miller\, and the second a specially-reformed Slide: Derek Magee (fiddle\, low whistles) Neil Whitaker (guitar banjo\, vocals) John Layton (bass) and Tom (everything else). It’s unpredictable\, debilitating\, life-limiting and currently incurable. But it doesn’t have to stay that way. The MS Society supports people living with MS and helps fund research into drugs that can manage symptoms better and\, we hope\, maybe even stop the progression of this horrible disease altogether. Tom’s daughter Ellie lives with MS. He’s raised over £18\,000 at previous gigs\, and aims to reach £20\,000 or more this year \n\n‘Brilliant’ Mojo ‘Astonishingly moving and inspirational’\n‘Never have I heard tales told and sung with such humour and skill’\n‘A spellbinding couple of hours – where did the evening go?‘ \n  \nFri May 8 – 7.30 HEART Headingley\, Leeds \n  \nAll proceeds to the MS Society. DESCRIPTION:Wednesday Night Live: VEASEY//TICCIATI DUO \nDoor 7pm Music 7.15pm \nVeasey//Ticciati Duo is an improvising piano/drums duo\, presenting a personal blend of contemporary classical music and first wave free jazz (particularly the extended works of Don Cherry). The music on their debut album was written as an exploration of closeness and intimacy. Their relationship with experimental music is founded on these ideas\, as an avenue for connection with both the audience and each other. \nThe way they perform and compose lets them reference whatever musical world they like\, in whatever tone they like\, as well as letting them dig for new ones. They might drift through clattering bursts of noise\, rapturous spiritual jazz-isms and spacious modern chamber music in one sitting. Their hope is that the audience will come away from one of their performances knowing them quite well. \nPhoto credit: Stuart Morgan Hajdukiewicz \nAdvance tickets £8/£7 concessions (students + unwaged) available from HEART reception and online \nOn the Night £10

SUMMARY:TNL: Pick n Mix
DESCRIPTION:Tuesday Night Live: PICK n MIX \nDoors 7pm. Music 7.15pm \nPick n Mix are a Leeds-based four-piece acoustic group playing a range of covers (some well-known\, some not so) as well as originals\, across a broad range of genres. \nFeaturing Nick Davis\, John Hulbert\, Dani Humphreys and Vics Marshall – who all met through their local community group\, Music From The Attic – they blend acoustic guitars with intricate harmonies\, giving a new take of the covers they perform. \nThe name ‘Pick n Mix’ comes through the fact that their act tries to pick (and mix) a range of songs to suit most tastes – as well as the fact that the quartet pick and mix their lead vocalist\, featured guitarist etc depending on the song. \nHaving performed at a host of local venues since their formation in 2022 (as either a quartet\, trio or duo)\, they are very much looking forward to returning as a foursome to play at HEART on 30 June. \nAdvance tickets £8/£7 concession (students + unwaged) available from HEART reception and online \nOn the Night tickets £10
