This month we’re delighted to welcome LINDA MARSHALL – Linda’s appearance will be on video. \nLinda Marshall\, poet and former co-editor of Aireings poetry magazine\, has three collections\nof poetry to her name. Her latest\, Cloud Cuckoo Café\, is published by Yaffle Press\, and\ncontains poems that will make people wake up and smell the coffee! \nLinda is currently working on a poetry book focused on Headingley to be launched later this year. She enjoys taking part in various zoom poetry workshops and is a member of Heartlines writers and Lucht Focail\, the Leeds Irish group of poets. \nHer style is often surreal with a twist humour. \nWe supply the mic – you supply the poetry \nPut your name down for a 5 minute slot (first come\, first served) or just come along and listen. \nOpen mic name listing from 6.30pm \nEvent begins with guest poet at 7.00pm \nEveryone welcome. DESCRIPTION:SOUNDBITES – Monthly Poetry Open Mic Event \nLive in the Assembly Bar + Kitchen! \nReadings by a different local published poet each month and this month we’re delighted to welcome JAMIE H SCRUTTON \nJamie is a Yorkshire based artist\, specialising in performance poetry and animation. He has showcased his work at various events around the UK\, including ‘Exploding Cinema’ and ‘Kino Open Mic Film Night’\, both based in London. \nHe has headlined events such as ‘Stanza Extravaganza’ and ‘Big Poetry’\, both based in Torquay. He won the Audience Choice Award for his animation ‘The Day My Gran Rode a Rollercoaster’ at the Winter Gardens Film Festival in Blackpool\, 2017. He released his debut book titled ‘The devil Makes Work for Creative Hands’\, which touches upon his processes as an artist and his personal debilitating episodes through mental health. The book is available through Waterstones.
