Music from the Floor is the improvising ensemble led by drummer Louis Berthoud, featuring Tom O’Brien (piano) and Elliot Roffe (double bass). The project takes influence from the world of free jazz (Ornette; Coltrane; Christian Lillinger) but also that of modern classical music (Boulez; Xenakis; Morton Feldman) to create music that is deeply rhythmic, open and spacious.
