Saul plays with Leeds based groups Awen Ensemble and Ferg’s Imaginary Big Band\, starting Dufftet as a means to play his own compositions. Saul takes a great deal of influence from Jazz saxophonists such as Paul Desmond\, Seamus Blake\, and Dexter Gordon\, also often citing Pat Metheny as a writing influence. Saul likes to write pieces about his home in Gorton\, Manchester\, and plays these alongside a selection of standards.
