SUMMARY:Arts @ HEART - Jonathan Hooper & Jane Fielder
DESCRIPTION:Jane Fielder\, Corridor \n14th February – 28th March \nJane is probably Bingley’s best known and most well-loved artist and ran The Gallery for 12 years before handing over to David Starley\, although she remains very much part of the gallery\, curating her own works in ‘Jane’s Room’. Her popular\, generally watercolour\, ‘Janescapes’ portray familiar surroundings and people in full quirkiness and raise many smiles. However\, her talent is far deeper and wider\, working in a variety of media\, and in some surprising places. Crouched on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square or converting cardboard packaging to artworks in Shanghai\, she lets few opportunities pass her by. \n  \nJonathan Hooper\, Cafe \n14th February – 28th of March \nJonathan Hooper is a painter based in Leeds. He grew up in the Chilterns\, and studied at Bucks College of Higher Education\, Falmouth School of Art and Design\, and the University of Leeds. His subject is the built landscape of the city of Leeds\, in particular the residential architecture of the suburbs to its north-west. \nHe was awarded the Milner Prize for an Emerging Artist at the New English Art Club Annual Exhibition 2024\, and was shortlisted for the Jackson’s Painting Prize in 2023. He was one of the five painters in the group exhibition Where We Live which toured England in 2021-23. \n  \n  \n
