Wychbury are a contemporary folk duo based in Leeds, consisting of guitarist, Che Bradley and vocalist and flautist, Rhiannon Kenny. The duo intertwine traditional folk songs with original material within their set. Their performance combines intimate storytelling with expressive arrangements. Rhiannon’s delicate and impassioned vocals flow in perfect synergy with Che’s intricate finger-picking guitar style.
Currently, the duo have been selected by Leeds Conservatoire for the ‘Artists’ Development Scheme’ where they are receiving support and mentorship. The start of 2022, saw Che receive a grant from the Wolfson Foundation for his exceptional playing, to purchase a Fylde Alexander which has deeply enriched the duo’s sound. The pair are heavily involved within the Leeds Folk scene and have performed at Hyde Park Book Club, Left Bank, The Grove, Harrogate’s Rural Fest and were recently interviewed on Chapple FM. Their debut single ‘Unmarked Grave’ was aired on The Durbervilles show on BBC Radio Leeds and they are currently recording their EP.
