SOUNDBITES – Monthly Poetry Open Mic Event

We’re back live in the Assembly Bar + Kitchen!

Readings by a different local published poet each month. And this month we’re delighted to welcome Jamie Harry Scrutton.

Jamie H Scrutton is a Yorkshire based artist, specialising in performance poetry and animation.

He has showcased his work at various events around the UK, including ‘Exploding
Cinema’ and ‘Kino Open Mic Film Night’, both based in London. He has headlined events
such as ‘Stanza Extravaganza’ and ‘Big Poetry’, both based in Torquay. He won the Audience
Choice Award for his animation ‘The Day My Gran Rode a Rollercoaster’ at the Winter
Gardens Film Festival in Blackpool, 2017. He released his debut book titled ‘The devil Makes
Work for Creative Hands’, which touches upon his processes as an artist and his personal
debilitating episodes through mental health. The book is available through Waterstones.

He will be releasing his forthcoming animation ‘The Mirage’ this summer.
