Readings by a different local published poet each month. This month we’re delighted to welcome LIZ McPHERSON

Liz’s poetry has been widely published in both print and online poetry journals and anthologies, including Prole, The High Window, The Lake, and Black Nore Review, among others. She was runner-up in the 2021 Poetry Society Stanza Competition and has been shortlisted for the 2024 Leeds Poetry Prize. A familiar face at open mic events across West
Yorkshire, she recently headlined at Gobby in the Lobby in Wakefield and will be at the Purple Room, Ilkley, on 19th October with the Fabulous Mustard Brothers.

Liz’s work explores the unanticipated aspects of life with her unique combination of humour
and sensitivity. ‘Unexpected Items’ will be published by Yaffle in October 2024.
