Films at Heart Retrospectives: NIGHT MOVES
Doors at 7pm Film 7.15pm
Dir Arthur Penn/1 hr 40 mins/Certificate 15 (2025 rerating)/1975
In order to honour the passing of Gene Hackman, we will be showing one of his greatest performances as Harry Moseby in Arthur Penn’s hard boiled classic – Night Moves. Hackman oozes world-weary cynicism as a private detective in search of an actress’s missing daughter, stumbling on a world of conspiracy.
Reviews:
Roger Ebert 4 out of 4 stars – “Great seventies film noir”
Criterion “Night Moves is a defining work of post-Watergate cinema—a silent scream of existential dread and moral decay whose legend has only grown with time.”
