NICKI ALLAN has an impressive career portfolio that combines teaching, songwriting, session work and performing which has taken her all over the world as a professional jazz vocalist and pianist.

Credits include Glastonbury, the 02 Academy, recording deals with 33Jazz records, Nicki was winner of the coveted title of jazz Yorkshire vocalist of the year in 2011 for her contribution to women in Jazz Music. 

Influences span pianists and vocalists alike, from the subtle and beautiful dulcet tones of Shirley Horn, Lizz Wright, Ella Fitzgerald and Joni Mitchell to the vibrant, rhythmic latin, swing and Contemporary piano sounds influenced and inspired by Monk, Oscar Peterson and  Herbie Hancock.

Underpinned by her stylish bluesy phrasing and love of vocal improvisation Nicki and her band swing like crazy. Delivered by her distinguished band of stellar northern musicians including Adrian Knowles (Sounds of 59)  John Settle (Vibeology, NYBB)  Kevin Holbrough and Rod Mason Brass elite, this quintet line up will definitely pack an exhilarating and mighty punch with a selection of original songs and driving new arrangements.
